Soviet collectivisation and famine — the early 1930s

Soviet collectivisation | research questions. Conceptual relationship map, not measured results.

Forced collectivisation, procurement, coercion and restrictions on movement belong at the centre of this

investigation. Ukraine, Kazakhstan and other affected regions require distinct treatment rather than a single flattened story. Power question: what happened when authorities could command production and extraction while suppressing refusal, movement and unwelcome information? Avoidance question: could enforceable local decision rights, independent reporting and limits on procurement have interrupted the mechanisms of catastrophe? Lab proposal: explore incentives and food flows only as analytical aids. No simulation substitutes for historical evidence about repression, intent and human experience.
